Apartments Algarve, 1 (3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 6) With Communal Pool

Apartment is ideal for up to 6 people - another person could use a camp bed in the lounge area - rent on site. Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 - double bed - en-suite with bath/shower, handbasin, bidet and wc.

Bedroom 2 with twin single beds, Bedroom 3 with twin single beds, Bathrooms: fully tiled 2nd bathroom with large shower cubicle, hand basin, (+ Bed 1 en-suite - see above).

Kitchen: Fully equipped kitchen, including electric cooker, fridge, freezer, toaster, kettle, etc. Utility area: in an alcove adjacent to the front door, there is a fully plumbed washing machine, plus ironing board etc.

Living area: the spacious lounge/diner has local TV, a DVD player (also for CD playing through the TV), and Sky freeview channels (BBC and ITV etc) - 3 piece suite and 4 place dining table and chairs.

Notes on accommodation
the apartment entrance is on the same level as the roadway/parking area, with just three steps to gain access. It is therefore acceptable for the less able bodied, although it is not suitable for wheelchair access. The remainder of the complex is accessible via stairs, including the pool area. Whilst not air conditioned, the apartment (having another above) remains quite cool in summer, and is quick to warm in winter. There are electric fans and electric fires should they be needed.
No pets allowed.
No smoking inside this property please.

Accessibility
Families with young children should be aware that the main lounge area of the property opens directly onto large balcony, which is at first floor level. The village, with its restaurants and beach is a five minute (400 yard) walk down a fairly steep hill, but there is parking if it is necessary for someone to be driven into the village because of poor mobility

Outside
The apartment has a large first floor balcony accessible via the double glazed lounge door. Tables and seating available for dining "al fresco".

Ample free car parking, literally outside the door.

Swimming Pool
The apartment has pool rights, thus all guests have free use of the large shared pool area, which also offer extensive sunbathing areas and free sun loungers, and a separate baby pool. The pool area has a card operated security gate to ensure its use solely by those apartments having purchased pool rights for their guests.

Coast/Beach
In addition to Salema's sandy beach (a blue flag beach, with lifeguards), with its sun beds, showers and restaurants/bars, dozens of very secluded and often deserted coves and beaches within the National Park area of the western Algarve are just a short drive away
The west coast with excellent surfing and is only 10 minutes by car, as is the holiday resort and beach of Praia da Luz, for those who like the more active beach resort with watersports and rides for all ages.

Golf
The Algarve boasts some of Europe's best golf courses - the nearest of which is Parque de Floresta Golf and Spa Resort, with it's 18 hole championship course, plus Tennis, archery, and spa, with a choice of restaurants is just a 5 minute drive from the apartment. Also the famous Palmares Golf, Penina Golf Resort, and the Boavista Golf Resort are all quite close to nearby Lagos, and just a few minutes drive away.

Travel
The nearest airport is Faro (FAO) is just 100km (about 1 hour 10 minutes drive), most of which is now fast motorway or dual carriageway.
A car is not essential, but it is desirable if you wish to visit some of the more remote beaches or do any serious sightseeing.
Car hire and taxis from the airport can be arranged on request.

Sightseeing and activities
Besides the cliff walks through the Costa Vincentina National Park, there are beautiful sights to be seen just a short car drive away, including the Mountain of Monchique (about 40 minutes), Cape St Vincent, Europe's most westerly point, with its fort, museum, and lighthouse (15 minutes), Praia da Luz for watersports (10 mins), plus for the children particularly, Zoomarine dolphinarium and aquariums (40 mins) and choice of two waterparks around 35 mins drive. Remember to take a drive to the magnificent Lagos Marina and view the spectacular yachts and cruisers that come and go from one of the excellent marina side restaurants. Or even take a sightseeing flight from Alvor (Portimao) airstrip just 25 minutes drive away and view the spectacular Algarve coastline from the air (please ask for details)...
